    Why start early

Year 12 is won in the years before it starts.

By Year 11, the gaps have already quietly formed. The strongest students aren't smarter - they simply arrived ready. Fastrack builds that readiness in Year 8, while the pressure is still low.

    • Meet senior Maths already familiar - not blindsided
    • Hit Year 11 calm, confident and ahead
    • Ready for Methods in Victoria, Advanced in NSW

    The senior Maths launchpad

    What Fastrack actually does.

Three things, done consistently through Year 8, that decide how your child meets senior Maths.

    01

    Get ahead of the curriculum

We accelerate beyond the school pace, so your child meets Year 10 and early senior content already familiar with it - not blindsided by it.

    02

    Master the fundamentals

Maths is the subject that compounds hardest. We lock in the core skills almost everything else in senior Maths quietly builds on.

    03

    Build real study habits

Note-taking, exam technique, independent study - the habits that separate top senior students, learned early while the stakes are still low.

    One subject, done deeply

    Why Maths, and why now.

We go deep on one subject instead of spreading thin. Maths compounds harder than anything else into Year 11 and 12 - Methods and Specialist in Victoria, Mathematics Advanced and Extension 1 in NSW, and the maths-heavy sciences in both, all stand on it. Get ahead here, and the rest of senior school gets easier.

    01

The on-ramp to Methods & Advanced

Both subjects assume fluency from day one and move fast. Fastrack builds that fluency early, so Year 11 is a step up - not a wall.

    02

The algebra those subjects run on

Surds, indices, factorising, quadratics - the exact spine VCE and HSC Maths are built on, taken well beyond the Year 8-9 syllabus.

    03

    Problem-solving & reasoning

The exact thinking skills senior Maths rewards - trained week after week until they're second nature.

    Where this leads

The same algebra, two senior pathways.

Fastrack teaches Australian Curriculum Years 9-10 Maths, which is what both states build their senior Maths on. Here is what that opens in each.

    The Victorian pathway

    VCE Methods & Specialist

In Victoria these are the two highest-scaling Maths subjects. A study score is scaled by the subject it came from, so the same raw score is worth far more out of Specialist or Methods than out of General.

    3548
    Specialist
    3541
    Methods
    3533
    General Maths

Victorian VCE study scores: the same raw 35, scaled three ways - 2025 VTAC scaling report. Run the numbers

    Both senior pathways

    Methods, Specialist, Advanced & Extension

Victoria and New South Wales build Years 7 to 10 Maths on the same Australian Curriculum. In NSW the demanding Stage 5 pathway, the one families know as 5.3, leads into Mathematics Advanced and on into Extension 1 and 2. In Victoria the same algebra leads into Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics. Every topic below sits inside all four, and inside Fastrack.

    • Surds, and rationalising a denominator with the conjugate
    • Index laws, including fractional and negative indices
    • Expanding, FOIL and algebraic fractions
    • Right-angled trigonometry, elevation, depression and bearings

Scaling works differently in NSW, so there is no equivalent of the Victorian scaling table. What carries across is the content, and the content is the same.

    AI + data

    We don't guess. We measure.

After every test and exam, EduVerse's system analyses each student - and the whole cohort - down to the topic and question. So teaching targets what the numbers say needs work, not a hunch.

    • AI finds the gaps

Every test and exam is broken down to the topic and question level - even flagging mis-keyed or confusing questions.

    • Data targets the teaching

Tutors start each week knowing exactly what to reteach and who needs help, so class time hits real weaknesses.

    • Progress you can see

Clear reports track your child's movement over time, topic by topic - proof the head start is working.

    Your questions.

Current Year 8s, and only Year 8 for this intake - one year level per class, so every student sits at the same point in the curriculum. If your child is in another year, book the assessment anyway and we will tell you straight whether to wait for the next intake.

Years 9-10 algebra and trigonometry, about 12 to 18 months before school gets there: surds, index laws, algebraic fractions, expanding and factorising, quadratics, right-angled trigonometry. Not Year 12 content. Methods, Specialist, Mathematics Advanced and Extension are what this content leads into once senior school starts in Year 11 - they open on exactly this algebra and assume a student already has it.

Years 7 to 10 Maths is built on the Australian Curriculum in both Victoria and New South Wales, so the Year 9-10 content a student in Sydney needs is the content a student in Melbourne needs. Fastrack's core - surds and rationalising denominators, index laws and fractional indices, algebraic fractions and expanding, right-angled trigonometry and bearings - is the algebra senior Maths opens on in both: Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics under the VCE, and Mathematics Advanced and Extension under the HSC. To be straight with you: our tutors and every student we have taught so far are Victorian, so we make no claims about results in New South Wales. What we can tell you is what the syllabus contains, and it contains this.

That's exactly who this is for. The subject choice is usually made in Year 10, but it's won or lost earlier - on whether the algebra is already fluent. Fastrack keeps the option open. If your child goes on to the applied course - General Mathematics under the VCE, Mathematics Standard under the HSC - they'll still be well ahead; if they go on to Methods, Specialist, Advanced or Extension, they'll arrive ready instead of scrambling.

Maths is the subject that compounds the most into Year 11 and 12. Methods and Specialist under the VCE, Mathematics Advanced and Extension under the HSC, and the maths-heavy sciences alongside them, all build on it. Rather than spreading thin across subjects, we go deep on the one that carries the most forward.

We teach above year level at a faster pace, in small groups, with 1:1 support and a real focus on study skills. School covers the syllabus; Fastrack builds the head start.

Because the gaps form early and the senior subject choice is effectively made in Year 10, on whether the algebra is already fluent. Getting ahead in Year 8 is far easier, and far less stressful, than scrambling to catch up in Year 11. Fastrack does the work while the pressure is still low.

Live every week on Zoom, in one of two small groups: Tuesday 7:00-8:30pm or Friday 6:30-8:00pm. Melbourne and Sydney keep the same clock all year, including through daylight saving, so those times are correct in both cities with nothing to convert. Optional 1:1 sessions can be booked whenever your child needs extra help.

Tutors who finished in the top 1% of the state for Maths, including perfect and near-perfect senior Maths scores. Their results were sat under the VCE and we say so plainly rather than implying an NSW tutor, but VCE and HSC senior Maths open on the same Years 9-10 algebra, so the ground they cover is the same either way.

Pricing is shared at your free consultation, tailored to the level of support your child needs. There's no lock-in and no ongoing subscription.
